CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, May 13, 2015

7:00 p.m.

Crystal Community Center

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnston at 7:00 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Members Present: Curt McCracken, Ted Padgett, Chris Johnston, Bob Naumann.

Public Comment: Public was allowed time to make comments.

Approval of Agenda & Acceptance of the Consent Agenda: Motion by Naumann, supported by McCracken to approve the agenda and accept the Consent Agenda which included:

a. Approve Township Bills

b. Approve Treasurer's Report

c. Approve the Crystal/Duck Lake Sewer Bills.

Motion carried- all ayes.

Approval of Consent Agenda: Motion by McCracken, supported by Naumann to accept the Consent Agenda as presented. Motion carried- all ayes.

Reports: Reports were presented.

Correspondence: Monthly correspondence was presented.

Unfinished Business:

f. Motion by Naumann, supported by Padgett to approve the contract with the Road Commission for road repairs in the amount of $123,573.00. Roads included: Sunset Blvd, Mill Street, Sweet Street, Grove & Eldred Dr, Colby Road, Senator Road (gravel and crack seal x 2) and bridge on Holland Lake Road. Motion carried- all ayes.

New Business:

c. Motion by Naumann, supported by Padgett to approve the proposal from Diana Bailey to offer aerobic classes in the Community Center from June 2015 through September 2015 every Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday for a fee of $2.00 per participant with half of the proceeds given to the Community Center weekly with the other half going towards the $194.00 required personal liability insurance until paid. All remaining monies will go to the Community Center. Motion carried- all ayes.

e. Motion by Naumann, supported by McCracken to accept the resignation of Bonnie Kanitz with regrets from the Crystal Township Parks and Recreation Committee. Motion carried- all ayes.

f. Motion by McCracken, supported by Johnston to adopt the resolution for the detection and treatment of aquatic invasive species in Crystal Lake with the addition/amendment of item c. Crystal Township shall not incur any financial responsibility.

Roll Call: Bob Naumann, Ted Padgett, Kurt McCracken, Chris Johnston. Motion carried 4/0 as amended.

g. Motion by McCracken, supported by Naumann to move to phase 2 with Lori Proulx to categorize records.

Public Comment: The public was allowed time for comment.

Adjournment: Motion by McCracken, supported by Padgett to adjourn the meeting at 8:40 p.m. Motion carried- all ayes.
