CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, March 12, 2014 7:00 p.m.

Crystal Community Center

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnston at 7:01 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of

Allegiance.

Members Present: All

Public Comment: Kevin Murphy, Superintendent Carson City Crystal Ares Schools addressed the

public regarding a May 6, 2014 Millage Proposal.

Approval of Agenda and Acceptance of the Consent Agenda: Motion by Naumann supported

by McCracken to approve the agenda as amended (addition of Siren) and accept the Consent

Agenda with the removal of the Township Bills. Motion carried- all ayes.

Consent Agenda: Motion by Naumann, supported by Padgett to approve the Consent Agenda.

Motion carried- all ayes. Items in the Consent Agenda included:

a. Approve Draft Minutes of the February 12, 2014 Meeting.

c. Approve Treasurer’s Report

d. Approve Crystal/Duck Lake Sanitary Sewer Bills.

Township Bills- : Motion by Padgett supported by Anderson to accept the bills as presented with

the removal of Check 17789 Payable to Ellenbaas Steel and Check 17785 Payable to Carolyn

Fitzpatrick, approve the addition of checks to: Century Tel for $138.67, Scott Brundage for $325.24,

Matt Dempsey for $21.19. Motion carried- all ayes.

Correspondence: Monthly correspondence was presented.

Unfinished Business:

Library update: Padgett told the Board that we would hear back from the library in two months

regarding our proposal

DPW Toro 60” ZTR mower: Motion by Naumann supported by McCracken, to accept the bid

from Bush Hardware for $2800.00 with trade in. Motion carried- all ayes.

Land Purchase: Motion by Padgett supported by Anderson to enter closed session to discuss

land purchase, Roll Call Vote: McCracken, Aye; Padgett, Aye; Johnston, Aye; Naumann,

Aye; Anderson, Aye Motion carried 7:33PM Motion by McCracken supported by

Padgett to renter open session, Roll Call Vote: Anderson, Aye; Naumann, Aye; Padgett,

Aye; McCracken, Aye, Johnston, Aye Motion carried 7:38PM Motion by Naumann

supported by Padgett to purchase approximately .8 acres from Frankie and Susan Lehman

located at 250 South Mt. Hope (property just north of Spencer Cemetery) for $5,500.00

Motion carried- all ayes.

Bids for Siren: Motion by Naumann supported by McCracken, to accept the bid from Crystal

TV and Appliance in the amount of $5,050.00 to complete the electrical work for the Siren in

Crystal Park. Motion carried- all ayes.

New Business:

August 4 Primary Election: Motion by Naumann supported by Anderson to have a Special

Meeting Wednesday, March 26, 2014. Purpose of the meeting would be to discuss millage

proposals to put on the August 4, 2014 Primary Ballot. Motion carried- all ayes.

Accepting Credit Card Payments: Motion by Anderson supported by Naumann to allow the

Treasurer and Sewer District to utilize Point & Pay, a free program, allowing constituents to

pay taxes and sewer assessments with a credit card online. Motion carried- all ayes.

Public Comment: Public was allowed time to make comments.

Adjournment- Motion by McCracken, supported by Anderson to adjourn the meeting at

8:16 p.m. Motion carried- all ayes.
