CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, July 10, 2013

7:00 p.m.

Crystal Community Center

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnston at 7:00 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of

Allegiance.

Members Present: Chris Johnston, Ted Padgett, Curt McCracken and Jason Anderson, Bob Naumann.

Approval of Agenda: Motion by Naumann, supported by McCracken to approve the agenda as

Presented. Motion carried- all ayes.

Consent Agenda: Motion by Naumann, supported by Anderson to approve the Consent Agenda with

the an addition to the bills; include 1 check to Ralph Masonry in the amount of $27,000.00. The following

items were in the Consent Agenda:

Township Bills, Treasurer’s Report, Crystal/Duck Lake Sanitary Sewer Bills.

Motion carried- all ayes.

Donation: Amanda Ehlert and Brandon Bogart presented a check on behalf of the Crystal Community

Church to the Crystal Fire Department.

Reports: Reports were presented.

Correspondence: Monthly correspondence was presented.

Unfinished Business:

Fire Hall Addition-

Motion by Naumann, supported by Anderson to accept the bid from Fritz Electric in the amount of

$17,850.00. Motion carried- all ayes.

Motion by Naumann supported by McCracken to allow the Fire Department to borrow funds from

the General Fund to complete the remodel and addition to the Fire Hall. All borrowed funds will be

paid back without interest. Motion carried- all ayes.

Board agreed to run an add for the electrical

Part-time DPW Worker- Motion by Padgett, supported by Anderson to hire Larry DeVito for the Parttime

DPW position.

New Business:

Carson City-Crystal Area Schools Alternative Education: Motion by McCracken supported by Padgett

to accept the $3,000.00 offer for two classrooms to house an alternative education program for the

2013/2014 school year. Motion carried- all ayes.

Recycle Bin: Motion by Naumann supported by Anderson to have an additional recycle bin placed at

the Community Center at the cost of $275 per month. Motion carried- all ayes.

Youth Ministries Rent: Motion by Naumann, supported by Padgett, to disable the electronic key and

send a certified letter to have personal items removed by August 12, 2013. Motion carried- all ayes.

Public Comment- Public was allowed time to make comments.

Adjournment- Motion by Naumann, supported by McCracken to adjourn the meeting at 8:15 p.m.
