CRYSTAL TOWNSHIP BOARD MEETING MINUTES

Wednesday, April 13, 2016

7:00 p.m.

Crystal Community Center

The meeting was called to order by Supervisor Johnston at 7:00 p.m. and followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Members Present: Kurt McCracken, Ted Padgett, Chris Johnston, Jason Anderson, Bob Naumann

Public Comment: Public was allowed time to make comments.

Approval of Agenda & Acceptance of the Consent Agenda: Motion by Padgett, supported by Anderson to approve the agenda as amended (moving Item a. in Unfinished business- Police Contract after acceptance of Consent Agenda) and to accept the Consent Agenda which included:

a. Approve March 9, 2016 Regular Meeting Minutes

b. Approve Township Bills

c. Approve Treasurer's Report

d. Crystal/Duck Lake Sanitary Sewer Bills

Motion carried- all ayes.

Approve Consent Agenda: Motion by McCracken, suppoted by Padgett to approve the Consent Agenda as presented. Motion carried- all ayes.

Police Contract Discussion: Undersheriff, Michael Williams and the Board had discussion regarding the Police Coverage contract for Crystal township. Motion by Naumann, supported by Anderson to authorize Supervisor Johnston to sign the new Police Contract after the discussed changes are made. (Contract to begin May 1, 2016). Motion carried- all ayes.

Reports: Reports were presented.

DDA: Motion by Padgett, supported by Anderson to approve the Board to match the DDA's $500.00 to put toward clean up of brush and trees in the park. Motion carried- all ayes.

Correspondence: Monthly correspondence was presented.

Unfinished Business:

b. DDA applications: Motion by Naumann, supported by Anderson to appoint Mark Winslow to the DDA for the remainder of Ron Flinn's term. Motion carried- all ayes.

d. Floor Auto Scrubber: Motion by Naumann, supported by Padgett to approve the purchase of new floor scrubber for the Community Center, not to exceed $5,581.44. Motion carried- all ayes.

New Business:

a. Motion by Naumann, supported by McCracken to accept the Township Board to take over fiduciary responsibilities for the Duck Lake Improvement Board. Motion carried- all ayes.

b. Township Millages- May 10, 2016 deadline: Motion by McCracken, supported by Anderson to keep all millages (Road, Fire, Police) at the same level for the August 2016 Primary. Motion carried- all ayes.

Township Millages: The Board will hold a Special Meeting on April 27, 2016 at 8:00 p.m. for the purpose of discussing Millages.

Public Comment: The public was allowed time for comment.

Adjournment: Motion by Padgett, supported by McCracken to adjourn the meeting at 8:04 p.m. Motion carried- all ayes.
